About Children

Due to liquor being served at the evening receptions, we restrict youth (18 years and younger) from attending. For their safety, children are also restricted from entering the Exposition Hall and Poster Sessions at all times. Our program is geared for adult participation and we appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

Children’s Activities in San Diego …

We encourage you to bring your children to San Diego. We are planning a special Welcome Reception on the U.S.S. Midway on Sunday, November 11 just for the children. While you are catching up with friends at the Welcome Reception your children can enjoy their own Welcome Reception. The children’s Welcome Reception will feature a photo drop where a child’s face can be photographed as a pirate, mermaid, shark, or snorkeling. A water container will be set up for children to reach in to feel various shells and starfish. Storytellers, face painters and balloon twisters will provide entertainment. Temporary tattoos, telescope favors, pirate kerchiefs, treasure maps and coloring books will be given as gifts.
